Sea Service Officers Donate to Make-A-Wish
WASHINGTON -- An event to celebrate the recent promotion of US Coast Guard officers and a Navy officer will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic.
Approximatley13 Coast Guard officers and one Navy officer have united to throw a celebration of their promotions, and donate approximately $4,000 dollars to contribute towards the wish of a child with a life-threatening medical condition.
Traditionally, when an officer is promoted they host an event to celebrate with friends and co-workers. This is called a wetting-down. Instead of hosting a traditional party, these officers decided to turn their event into an opportunity to help others.
The celebration will take place at Clydes of Gallery Place in Washington on Friday from 2-4 p.m. Media wishing to attend the event should contact Ashley Korbas from Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic at (301) 962-9474 x. 526.
