Lamontagne Jr., the executive petty officer of Aids to Navigation Team (ANT) Baltimore, disassembles the lantern of the Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse to conduct maintenance and to ensure it's operating properly Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008. The Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse, originally built in 1875, is one of only 10 lighthouses to be named a National Historic Landmark, the highest recognition that a historic structure can receive. The lighthouse is also the only screw-pile light on the Chesapeake Bay still in its original position. U.S. Coast Guard photo/Petty Officer 3rd Class Brandyn Hill.
